Dr. Sam is a scientist. He is very curious and loves to have new ideas. One day, he has a big dream. He wants to build a perpetual motion machine. A perpetual motion machine can run forever without stopping.
Dr. Sam thinks it is possible. He tells his friends about his idea. "I can make a machine that never stops!" he says loudly.
But his friends shake their heads. "It is impossible," they say. "No machine can run forever. You will fail."
Dr. Sam feels sad, but he does not give up. He believes in his dream. He goes to his lab and starts working. He draws pictures and builds models. He thinks and thinks.
Days pass, and Dr. Sam keeps trying. He experiments with different parts and designs. Sometimes, things do not work. The machine stops, and he feels sad.
One night, Dr. Sam has a great idea. He uses magnets and wheels in a new way. He builds the machine again. This time, it moves smoothly. "Maybe this is it!" he thinks.
He watches the machine carefully. It spins and spins. Dr. Sam smiles. He is proud of his work.
But after a while, the machine stops. Dr. Sam feels disappointed, but he does not give up. "I will not stop trying," he says. "One day, I will find a way."
Dr. Sam knows that great discoveries take time. He believes in his dream and continues to work hard.
