There is a little old lady named Mrs. Thompson. She lives in a small town. Mrs. Thompson loves mystery books. She enjoys finding clues and solving puzzles.
One day, a crime happens in the town. Someone steals the mayor's necklace! The people are worried. The police do not know who took it.
Mrs. Thompson hears about the stolen necklace. "I can help!" she says. The police are surprised, but they let her try.
Mrs. Thompson talks to the mayor. "When did you see the necklace last?" she asks. The mayor thinks. "I last saw it at the town festival," he says.
Mrs. Thompson goes to the festival. She looks for clues. She sees people having fun. Suddenly, she finds something shiny on the ground. It is a piece of cloth. "This is a clue!" she thinks.
She asks the vendors if they saw anything strange. One vendor says, "I saw a man in a red coat near the mayor's seat." Mrs. Thompson remembers the cloth. "We need to find the man in the red coat!" she says.
Mrs. Thompson and the police search the town. They find the man hiding in an alley. He has the mayor's necklace in his pocket! The police arrest him.
The mayor thanks Mrs. Thompson. "You are a great detective!" he says. Mrs. Thompson smiles. "I just love solving mysteries."
Now, Mrs. Thompson helps the police with more cases. She is the town’s favorite detective, solving crimes with her cleverness.
