33. A Nice Park

(From here on, the texts include verbs in Past Simple)

Tom went to the park. The park had trees and benches. Tom liked to sit on the benches. He saw a bird in the tree. The bird was singing a song. Tom listened to the bird. Then, he saw a dog running. The dog was playing with a ball. A girl threw the ball, and the dog ran to get it. The girl laughed when the dog brought the ball back. 

Tom smiled. He liked the park. Tom stood up and walked to a tree. He touched the tree.

The bark of the tree was rough. Tom sat down again and watched the bird and the dog. It was a nice day at the park.
