Mr. Green was old. He had never used a computer before. His grandchildren always talked about the internet, emails, and games, but Mr. Green didn’t understand. One day, his daughter bought him a computer. “You’ll like it, Dad,” she said. “You can learn how to use it.”
At first, Mr. Green was nervous. He didn’t know how to turn it on. His hands shook as he pressed the power button. The screen lit up, and he stared at it. “What now?” he thought.
The next day, his daughter came over to help him. She showed him how to use the mouse and keyboard. “This is how you check your email,” she said, typing slowly. Mr. Green watched carefully. He tried it himself, clicking the mouse and pressing the keys. It wasn’t easy, but he started to learn.
Every day, Mr. Green practiced. At first, it took him a long time to do anything, but he didn’t give up. Slowly, he got better. He sent his first email to his grandson. “Hello,” he typed. “How are you?”
When his grandson wrote back, Mr. Green smiled. He was proud of himself. Learning something new wasn’t easy, but it was always worth it.
