40. A Boy at the Zoo

Billy went to the zoo. He was excited. He liked animals. His parents took him there on a sunny day.

First, Billy saw the lions. The lions were big and loud. They roared, and Billy smiled. Then, he went to see the monkeys. The monkeys jumped around and made funny sounds. Billy laughed.

After the monkeys, Billy and his mom went to see the giraffes. The giraffes had long necks and were eating leaves from tall trees. Billy pointed at one giraffe that bent down to drink water. 'Look, Mom! It’s so tall!' he said. His mom smiled and took a picture of him with the giraffes in the background.

Then, they walked to the bird area. There were colorful parrots, bright flamingos, and big owls. One parrot was talking! It said, 'Hello!' and Billy waved back at it. He loved the bright feathers and the way the birds flew around in their cages.

Next, Billy saw the elephants. They were huge, but there was a little elephant, too! He came close to Bobby and shook his hand with his trunk. The other elephant sprayed water with its trunk. Billy thought that was funny too.

After walking for a long time, Billy was tired. But he was happy. He loved the zoo and wanted to come back again.
