Tom wanted to buy a present for his wife. Her birthday was next week, and he wanted it to be special. He thought about what she liked. She loved flowers, books, and jewelry. But Tom wasn’t sure what would make her happiest this year.
He decided to go to the mall. First, he stopped at the flower shop. The flowers were beautiful—roses, tulips, and lilies. He knew his wife loved flowers, but he wanted something that would last longer.
Next, Tom went to the bookstore. His wife loved reading, and she always had a book with her. He looked at many books, trying to find one she hadn’t read yet. But Tom wasn’t sure which one to choose. "Maybe books aren't the best idea," he thought.
Finally, Tom walked to the jewelry store. He saw shiny rings, earrings, and necklaces. One necklace caught his eye. It was silver and had a heart on it. The heart reminded him of his wife’s gentle smile. “This is it,” Tom thought. “She will love this.”
Tom bought the necklace and went home. He wrapped it carefully in a nice box and tied it with a ribbon. He couldn’t wait to see his wife’s face when she opened it. He knew she would love the necklace and, more importantly, know how much he cared for her.
