4. Tom and His Dog

Tom has a pet dog. His dog is not too big, but friendly. Tom loves his dog. They play in the yard. Tom throws a ball. The dog runs fast. The dog catches the ball. Tom laughs.

Then Tom gives his dog a treat. The dog wags his tail. Tom smiles. He says, "You are a good dog!" The dog barks happily. Tom thinks, "Dogs are great pets!"

Tom knows that his dog loves him, too. His dog protects him from bad guys.

Tom goes inside the house. He sees his cat. The cat is small and quiet. Tom loves his cat too. He says, "You are a nice cat!" The cat purrs softly.

Tom loves all his pets. He knows they are happy.
